I'm Joanne

Joanne

     My close friends and family call me Jo. In another millennium, I attended Michigan State University and Ferris State University where I received a bachelor's degree in marketing. I have been married to my husband, Ralph, for close to forty-one years. We live on ten acres on the outskirts of Clarkston, Michigan: a darling community with a quaint downtown village. 

     After Ralph and I got married and we started our family, I started my own photography business. I enjoyed a rewarding career as a wife, mother and photographer for over thirty years. It was the perfect balance between my love of family and photography.

     I also enjoy traveling, reading, playing the piano, helping at my church and especially hanging out with family and friends. Sometimes there aren't enough hours in the day!

    Ralph and I have three children, Brandon, Olivia and Drake. Our oldest, Brandon, is married to Jessica and they have three beautiful daughters and an adventurous little son. Our daughter Olivia is married to Skyler, and they have been blessed with two lovely little girls and very recently welcomed a son into their family. Our son, Drake, is our youngest at 27.

We are thankful that all our children and grandchildren live very close by; we spend a great deal of time together. Having seven grandchildren is a wonderful gift from God. When I started to write my first book, I had them in mind.

     I have always loved reading and it was a dream of mine to someday write a book. Believe it or not, as a child I had a little library set up in my closet complete with a catalog system, just in case somebody wanted to borrow a book.

     Now I am putting my creative efforts toward the creation of books that children will cherish. Wholesome books that encourage a faith in God and love of family. I have this fear, as many parents and grandparents do, that with so many technological advances in our fast-paced world, our children will miss out on cuddling up in a cozy chair and losing themselves in a lovely story.

     I am beyond excited to bring you my first novel. I hope you will share it with little ones you love.
